Young gun nominated for stellar month.
Skilful halfback Nic Martin has been awarded the rounds 9-12 nomination for the Liberty Player of the Month.
In his third season of AFL, the 23-year-old’s game has elevated to another level in 2024, becoming a key ball user in Essendon’s push to second position.
Over the previous four rounds, Martin’s form has seen him rise to fourth in the AFL for total disposals (30.1 per game), seventh for total effective disposals (21.5 per game) and eighth in metres gained per game (550 per game).
It continues a promising rise for the West Australian product, who’ll look to continue his pivotal form into the second half of the season.
Each month, the club will announce the winner of the Liberty Player of the Month, culminating in the Liberty Player of the Year at season’s end – an award won by gun forward Kyle Langford last season.
