The race to sign Manchester United midfielder Fred continues, with Fenerbahce making a £13m bid for the Brazilian.

The 30-year-old is available for transfer this summer at Old Trafford, with Erik ten Hag bringing in Mason Mount and hoping to add another midfielder to his squad.

Fulham are interested in Fred but the concrete interest so far has come from Turkey, with Galatasaray already having an offer turned down and now Fenerbahce launching a £13m bid for his services, according to The Daily Mail.

Manchester United have put an asking price of £20m on the former Shakhtar man so are unlikely to accept Fenerbahce’s offer and negotiations will continue.

The Mail’s report states that talks are continuing with Fulham, who have been interested in Fred all summer but are yet to make a bid.

The Red Devils are keen to add a midfielder and a centre-back to their squad before the transfer window closes, but need to offload players before that happens.

Harry Maguire is set to join West Ham after Manchester United accepted a £30m bid for the England defender, but deals are yet to be done for the likes of Fred and Donny van de Beek, although Real Sociedad are interested in the Dutchman.

In terms of targets for Erik ten Hag, in defence he wants either Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo or Bayern Muich’s Benjamin Pavard, both of which appear achievable after a deal was agreed for Maguire.

United are continuing to pursue Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat with the Morocco international keen on a move but a breakthrough in negotiations slow to emerge.
