Frank Vogel post-practice press conference as the Phoenix Suns (12-8) are set to play in Los Angeles against the Lakers (12-9) tomorrow night in the quarterfinals of the NBA In-Season Tournament
The Lakers have beaten the Suns twice this season, the latest of which of which came in the group stage of the In-Season Tournament. In both games, the Suns have blown a fourth quarter lead.
However, this will be the Suns first time having Devin Booker healthy and available against the Lakers. This time around, not only do the Suns have Booker back, they also feel like it’s a completely different matchup.
“It’s a lot of excitement around it,” Vogel said. “I know it’s great to see KD and LeBron out there on the same floor for all fans. The fans should cherish it, to be able to see that type of matchup. It’s gonna be really exciting. For us, it doesn’t matter who we’re playing, we’re trying to win this tournament. So, just dive into the work and get our guys ready to play.”
Vogel has loved the In-Season Tournament thus far.
“Whatever they thought it was going to do from an excitement standpoint, I would say it’s times 100,” Vogel said.
