PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers will turn to Mitch Trubisky as their starting quarterback in Week 14 after losing Kenny Pickett to a high ankle sprain.
This isn’t the first time Trubisky has started for the Steelers, operating as the QB1 for five games prior to this week against the Patriots. He’s 2-3 as the team’s starter, but will need to improve that record over the next month as he hopes to lead Pittsburgh to a playoff birth.

“It’s fine, I guess,” Harris said when asked how he’d describe Trubisky’s leadership style. “Vocal, I guess.”
Offensive coordinator Eddie Faulkner gave a bit more when asked about Trubisky, giving glowing reviews about him as a teammate and a player.
“Mitch (Trubisky) prepares week in and week out like he’s the starter,” Faulkner said. “You feel perfectly fine with him going in there because he does everything he needs to do to be duly prepared for the opponent we have. From that standpoint, we don’t have any anxiety about him going in there and being able to produce.”
The Steelers kept Trubisky this offseason as a mentor to Pickett and a leader within the locker room. They’ll need every bit of “fine” they can get out of him to captivate this team and keep them on the right path while the await the return of Pickett and, hopefully, make their way into the postseason.
