Good News for Miami Hurricanes.

The Transfer Portal is once again being good to the Miami Hurricanes. This time it would be former Indiana Hoosiers center Zach Carpenter that’s heading to Coral Gables.

According to Pro Football Focus, Carpenter’s 2023 blocking grade would be 64.3%. His 803 snaps, just from the 2023 season, are indicative of his lunch-pail style of play and toughness. For his career, Carpenter has 1,895 total snaps. That’s the type of experience that’s coveted at one of the most difficult positions on the gridiron.

He spent his first season as a Michigan Wolverine in 2020 before transferring and playing the next three seasons with the Hoosiers.

The Hurricanes are losing center Matt Lee to the NFL so gaining a fifth-year senior to man the pivot is a huge get for Miami offensive line coach Alex Mirabal and the Miami football program in general.

Carpenter is listed at 6-foot-5, 295 pounds, and hails from Cincinnati (Ohio) Archbishop Moeller.
