Liverpool has more work to do during the summer and things appear to be speeding up across the transfer market as a whole, with several big-money moves beginning to fall into place.
The Reds have already captured Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai while the likes of Declan Rice could soon add to the number of deals that Premier League sides have got over the line.
Chelsea could yet get even busier while Manchester United and Manchester City will have to enter the market as well. Those moves will have to pay off or many of the coaches aiming for the European places could find themselves under pressure.

For Liverpool, the priority remains another midfielder and potentially a defender as well. With Jürgen Klopp’s squad looking in decent shape already, another couple of moves would make that very exciting ahead of the new campaign kicking off.
Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today, starting with a look at Southampton midfielder Roméo Lavia and concluding with a claim about Spurs and a possible hijack.
Roméo Lavia (Southampton)
Former Manchester City midfielder Lavia has emerged as a leading contender for Liverpool this summer with Southampton wanting $64m (£50m/€58m) for him 12 months after signing him.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has tweeted that ‘talks on the player’s side are advancing well’ and Liverpool would ideally want him signed in time for the training camp in Germany in mid-July.
Liverpool.com says: Lavia would represent a good third signing for Liverpool with the player clearly very talented. He has played a full season in the Premier League now and previously was coached by Pep Guardiola. That is certainly a good couple of ticks in his box.
