Fans in tears as the Huskers offer experienced wide receiver in the transfer portal.

Nebraska has limited spots remaining to pursue spots in the transfer portal, but running back and wide receiver are likely near the top of Nebraska’s remaining wish list.

The Huskers extended an offer on Saturday to one of the top transfer wide receivers remaining in the portal — Wake Forest wide receiver Jahmal Banks.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Banks has already visited Minnesota, Notre Dame and Purdue, and has a post-dead period visit set for Michigan.

Banks had 59 receptions for 563 yards and four touchdowns this past season. Overall, Banks has 107 receptions for 1,404 and 13 touchdowns in four seasons at Wake Forest.

Banks was one of the highest graded wide receivers in the ACC last season, according to Pro Football Focus. He finished the season with 77.6 offensive grade and a 78.5 receiving grade, both of which were top eight grades among ACC wide receivers in 2023.

Nebraska has added only one player from the transfer portal so far this offseason — FCS cornerback Blye Hill committed and signed with the Huskers on National Signing Day.
