Phoenix Suns hits another stumbling block as a key veteran expresses a desire for a larger role.

The Phoenix Suns stand eleventh in the Western Conference and they have been recently defeated by the Sacramento Kings. The concluding score of the game was 120-105. The Suns currently stand in the season with a 14-14 score.

The Suns are seeing the players coming and going from the starting lineup. Their prominent guard, Bradley Beal, played in only six games, whereas their starting centre Jusuf Nurkic, was also absent due to family issues. The Suns are facing restricted availability and are grappling with the talent available.

According to Bleacher Report’s report, Suns guard Devin Booker shared, “I think we still have to find ways to figure it out. I think that”s how you tell if you”re a good team or not. It”s when guys are out and guys are down and you still find a way to get it done or at least be more competitive than we are right now.”

Eric Gordon, the NBA Sixth Man of the Year of 2017 and one of the top-seed talents of the Phoenix Suns, shared with B/R, “Early on in the season, it was better. And lately, there just hasn”t been an emphasis [to get me more looks]. So, it”s definitely different. Lately I haven”t been getting hardly any touches really.”

Gordon, against the Portland Trail Blazers, registered 5 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists. Head coach of the Suns, Frank Vogel, also understands that the squad needs to use the veteran player better and expressed, “We”re looking at different guys. We need guys to step up. I got to keep moving the pieces around in terms of how we”re using certain guys. Can we get Eric Gordon more involved than I”m doing? I”m not doing a good enough job in making sure he”s involved in the offense. He”s a guy that can really help us.”

Gordon also expressed that he will speak with the head coach about integrating him more greatly in the offense of the Suns and as per B/R, he said, “No question. Everybody knows the type of player I am and what I”m about. I came here to win, but what I do is score. And I think when I score, it really opens up the door for a lot of people because I can score in big games and in big ways. That”s just what it is.”

Gordon further shared, “We have a lot of good players. To be in this kind of situation, it is a little different because you would never go through lapses like this. So, it”s definitely a lot different than what I kind of expected.”

He further said, “We go from winning seven in a row early on in the season and now we”ve lost eight out of 11. So, it”s just tough with the type of team that we have. We just have to figure out the different sacrifices that we need to try to win a game.”
