The Arkansas Razorbacks had a season to forget in the SEC. They finished at the bottom of the conference despite having a great quarterback in KJ Jefferson. The team could never put it all together on the field. The program took another blow this offseason when linebacker Jaheim Thomas announced he was entering the transfer portal.

Arkansas linebacker Jaheim Thomas has entered the transfer portal, @On3sports has learned.

Tallied 90 total tackles, 6.5 TFLs and two passes defended this season. Started career at Cincinnati. A four-star college rating by On3.

Thomas was the leading tackler on the team with 90 tackles to go along with 3.5 sacks. After spending his first two years with Cincinnati, Thomas transferred to Arkansas. Fellow linebacker Chris Paul Jr. also entered the portal meaning that the program will go into 2024 without the top two tacklers from the previous season. They will have to count on some young talent to fill the void left by these two players.

2024 Outlook

The Razorbacks have a pretty brutal schedule in 2024 but that is normal for the SEC. In the regular season, they will have matchups with Ole Miss, Texas, Missouri, and LSU. This is on top of matchups against Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Auburn. This isn’t surprising as the SEC is the premier conference in all of college football but Arkansas will have to play better than they did in 2023 or they could be in for another long season.

Can the Arkansas Razorbacks bounce back in 2024? They will need to replenish some talent in some way in order to compete with the rest of the conference.
