Iowa State offered Penn State transfer wide receiver Cristian Driver a scholarship on Monday, continuing a push from Iowa State toward transfer wide receivers.
Driver played in 10 games in his two seasons with Penn State. As a true freshman in 2022, he played in four games before accepting a redshirt to maintain another season of eligibility. As a redshirt freshman in 2023, Driver moved from defensive back to wide receiver.
Most of his snaps came on special teams, where he recorded two tackles. He had his first career reception (eight yards) in Penn State’s victory over Northwestern.
Since entering the transfer portal on Dec. 5, Driver has received interest from Minnesota, UMass, Colorado State, Utah, Oregon State and Iowa State.
Driver was a top 247 prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He was recruited to Penn State to play safety out of Argyle, Texas. He is the son of former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver, who played 14 NFL seasons.
