With just one game left in the season, and following a string of really ugly performances, Eagles’ head coach Nick Sirianni’s future with the team has been heavily debated. While it seems like every Philly fan has been sure to share their opinion on the matter, some insight from the organization was revealed on Wednesday by ESPN Insider, Adam Schefter.

Schefter points out that Sirianni’s job is safe after taking the team to three straight playoff appearances in his first three seasons as head coach. Not only that, but the team has set team and league records for number of wins over two seasons, and despite their struggles, has an offense with three 1,000-yard players in back-to-back seasons.

Things have been ugly the past month, but Sirianni has still done a lot of good things with this team since he first took over, and this slump shouldn’t be enough to cost him his job… yet.

While some may point out that the Eagles and Doug Pederson parted ways despite the head coach bringing a Super Bowl to the city, it’s important to note that Pederson went to the playoffs in only three of his five years as head coach, and his last season included a miserable 4-11-1 record with little optimism that would change.

Without question there are some big concerns heading into the postseason and even more with regards to what the offseason will bring, but at least for now, it seems like Nick Sirianni will have another chance to right the ship in 2024.
