Don’t be fooled by the 27-10 final.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ loss to the New York Giants in Sunday’s regular-season finale was worse than the story told on the scoreboard.

Don’t believe it?

Well, for starters, the team could have really used a win heading into the postseason. Instead, it limps into the postseason having gone 1-5 to close out the season.

Limps is a key word, too, because the Eagles are beat up.

Jalen Hurts mangled his middle finger in the loss to the Giants, and A.J. Brown hurt his knee.

The defense suffered a particularly brutal injury, too, because multiple reports indicate that rookie safety Sydney Brown likely suffered a torn ACL against New York.

More tests will reportedly take place Monday, but if Brown, whom the team took in the third round of April’s draft, did tear his ACL, obviously, that is the end of his season.

Brown played in 14 games and was in on 38 tackles with an interception that he returned 99 yards for a touchdown against the Cardinals.

Safety Reed Blankenship also reportedly suffered a groin injury against the Giants so it looks like the Eagles will be thin on the back end for their playoff opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
