Philadelphia Eagles fans are not happy after their team stumbled into the playoffs on a 1-5 slide, and they are looking for answers.
How could this have happened?
Many are putting the blame squarely on head coach Nick Sirianni, and those folks probably aren’t going to enjoy hearing what a former Eagles standout had to say about the team during a recent podcast appearance.
Javon Hargrave was a star in the middle of the Eagles defense the past couple seasons, but he left in the offseason to sign an $84 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers. Appearing on Arik Armstead’s “Third and Long” podcast, Hargrave talked about the differences between the 49ers and the Eagles.
“(Practices with the 49ers) are very more demanding,” Hargrave said. “I think it’s more so like how people call the Golden State (Warriors) coaching and Miami Heat. Over here (San Francisco) it’s the Miami Heat. Over there (Philadelphia) is Golden State because it’s more chill, more relaxed, you know, you’re chilling.
“Over here? Nah, it’s work,” he continued. “I feel like Kyle (Shanahan) is like Pat Riley. You know what you’re getting over here. Everyone can’t make it over here, for sure.”
He wasn’t through.
“When I first got here, I was looking at this kind of crazy,” Hargrave said. “The stuff we (were) doing, like, ‘I can’t believe y’all doing all this right now.
“A war every day.”
Yep, Eagles fans, fresh off a loss to the Giants in the regular-season finale, are going to love hearing this.
