OFFICIAL: Philadelphia Eagles Rumors Could Lead to Hiring Star Coach.

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a disappointing end to the 2023-24 NFL season. They lost six of their last seven games, including a playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As a result, the Eagles now have to take a hard look at themselves. That is speculated to lead to some personnel changes.

Philadelphia Eagles OC Brian Johnson Departure?

There are reports that indicate that Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is not happy with OC Brian Johnson. Those same reports claim that Hurts and Johnson were rarely on the same page this season. As a result, Hurts would call audibles on numerous occasions.

Did this impact Hurt’s performance? Statistically, most of his numbers were similar to the prior season. However, there was one key difference.

That difference was the number of interceptions Hurts threw. He had 15 this season compared to having six the previous season. This key stat could add some legitimacy of the claim that Hurts was in more vulnerable situations on the field this season.

Chip Kelly OC Rumors

There are rumors around the NFL that Chip Kelly is a hot candidate for several offensive coordinator positions. His is currently the head coach of the UCLA Bruins, where he has a 35-34 record.

Kelly does have some head coach history in the NFL. He had a short stint with the San Francisco 49ers. However, Kelly had a previous stint with one familiar NFL team before this.

Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles

Kelly coached the Philadelphia Eagles for nearly three seasons from 2013-15. He had a tough job from the start, taking over for legendary head coach Andy Reid. So, how did this play out?

Believe it or not, Kelly had a 26-21 regular season record in nearly three seasons. During his first two seasons, he led the Eagles to 10 wins in each, including one NFC East title. However, that was not good enough.

Philadelphia struggled in Kelly’s third season. After starting that season 6-9, Kelly was fired from the Eagles before the final game of that season. Reports shortly after that firing indicated that there was a personnel conflict that led to this despite having some success on the field.

So, could Kelly potentially have a reunion with Philadelphia? He certainly has the qualifications to back it up and the Eagles may be on the market for a new offensive coordinator. Plus, most of the players he may have had problems with have moved on from the Eagles in the last eight years. That could allow Kelly to have a possible reunion that may be best for both sides.
