PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns are looking to start another wins streak tonight in Brooklyn as the Nets play host to Frank Vogel’s squad.
Looking to start a new winning streak after seeing their seven-game run of victories snapped over the weekend, Vogel opted for this starting five:
Devin Booker
Bradley Beal
Eric Gordon
Kevin Durant
Jusuf Nurkic
Grayson Allen – normally a starter – went into the game listed as questionable after spraining his ankle earlier in the week but was ruled out ahead of game time. Gordon gets the start in his place.
Booker was recently named Western Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season and is hoping to be selected as an NBA All-Star for the fourth time tomorrow night.
More on his case:
This game is also notably Kevin Durant’s first game in Brooklyn since the franchise moved him to Phoenix nearly a year ago in a package built around Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson.
This will be the second time the duo of Nets’ stars have faced the Suns since the trade following the victory the Nets earned over Phoenix on Dec 13.
Nets coach Jacque Vaughn opted for a starting lineup built around Spencer Dinwiddie, Cam Thomas, Bridges, Johnson, and Nic Claxton as traditional starting F Dorian Finney-Smith was ruled ahead of game time.
Thomas has been a revelation for the Nets this season, taking over as the catalyst of the offense at various points this season and scoring 25 points against the Utah Jazz on Monday night.
As for Phoenix, expect Drew Eubanks, Keita Bates-Diop and more to see the court tonight for the Suns as well.
The Suns and Nets are set to play in front of a national audience on ABC. The game is set to tip off around 6:40 PM tonight.
