LATEST NEWS: Highly ranked, in-state TE says Vols making sure ‘I know I’m a priority’

One of the nation’s top tight ends in the 2026 class has visited Tennessee several times within the past year and was back in Knoxville on Saturday.

Tennessee has been one of the top schools in the running for Carson Sneed since he received an early scholarship offer from the Vols more than 11 months ago. He’s already a priority for Tennessee coach Josh Heupel’s staff, too.

If that wasn’t already obvious to Sneed, the Vols recently have made that abundantly clear to the four-star Class of 2026 tight end from Donelson Christian Academy in Nashville, Tenn. Tennessee offensive coordinator Joey Halzle joined tight ends coach Alec Abeln in visiting Sneed’s school on Friday, and the Vols showed him plenty of attention Saturday during his visit for their first junior day of the year.

It made for another enjoyable experience for the 6-foot-5.5, 226-pound Sneed, who has visited the Vols several times over the past years. He said he’s already planning to visit them again this spring, and Tennessee impressed him again Saturday during his latest trip to Knoxville.
