On Saturday, Joakim Dodson, a three-star wide receiver, declared his commitment to the Tennessee Volunteers.
Despite offers from Memphis, Indiana, and Georgia Tech, Dodson opted for the Volunteers.
Hailing from Collierville High School in Memphis, Tennessee, Dodson stands at an impressive 6 feet 1 inch and weighs 180 pounds. His junior season stats underscore his talent, as he amassed 52 receptions for 919 receiving yards and secured 8 receiving touchdowns.
In the class of 2025, Dodson is ranked as the No. 523 overall prospect and the No. 83 wide receiver. Notably, he holds the impressive titles of the No. 2 wide receiver and the No. 15 player in Tennessee, as per the On3 industry rankings.
With Dodson’s commitment, Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class has climbed to No. 11 nationally and No. 6 within the SEC. Notably, Dodson marks the second in-state commitment for the Vols in this class, joining forces with four-star quarterback George MacIntyre.
It will be interesting to see what the future has in store for Dodson and the Tennessee Volunteers. They have become a serious threat in the SEC and adding pieces like this will help them take the next step.
