During yesterday afternoon’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers, Devin Booker became the eighth-youngest player in NBA history to reach 14,000 career points.
At 27 years old and 118 days, Booker joined some of the very best players of all time to hit this mark by this age.
Only LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Wilt Chamberlain, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Michael Jordan reached 14,000 points at a younger age. Of these players, only Antetokounmpo is not in the top-10 all-time in points scored in NBA history.
Booker also joins a fellow Suns’ teammate in Durant as the only players in NBA history to reach both 14,000 points and 1,000 3-pointers before turning 28 years old. (all h/t @devinbookermuse/X)
After notching 21 points against LA, Booker is only 10 points shy of what Jordan had at his exact age.
Last week, Booker became the Suns’ second all-time leading scorer, passing Alvan Adams. He currently needs 1,661 more points to become the Suns’ all-time leading scorer and pass the late, great Walter Davis.
Booker is averaging 27.5 points on 49.6% shooting and 7.0 assists in 48 games this season for the 34-24 Suns.
For his career, Booker has averaged 24.2 points on 46.4% shooting in 578 regular season games. Booker ranks 25th all-time in points per game average.
