What a boost!
Orlando Pirates have received a trip injury boost ahead of their DStv Premiership clash with AmaZulu.
KEY BUCS TRIO TO RETURN
Jose Riveiro will have a considerably stronger squad from which to choose against AmaZulu on Saturday. Key defensive duo Nkosinathi Sibisi and Tapelo Xoki return after serving suspensions, while Bafana Bafana striker Evidence Makgopa is back in full training and could make the matchday squad.
This is from the official Pirates website:
“Defensive duo Nkosinathi Sibisi and Tapelo Xoki are again in contention for places in the match-day squad after both players missed out on the trip to Durban through suspension. Another boost for Pirates is the looming return of striker Evidence Makgopa, who is back at training after over a month on the sidelines.”

CHILLI BOYS NEXT IN THE CUP
Chippa United, facing an uphill struggle to keep hold of star goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, are the confirmed underdogs for their semi-final clash with Pirates in the Nedbank Cup on Saturday 4 May. To add more spice to the occasion, they’ve reportedly been sniffing around Pirates third-choice keeper Richard Ofori. The Ghanaian is seen as an ideal replacement should Super Eagles star Nwabali leave the club. Before that, Pirates face AmaZulu in DStv Premiership action on Saturday 20 April with kickoff at 17:30.
PIRATES TO MAKE MBATHA’S MOVE PERMANENT
According to SoccerLaduma, Pirates will trigger a buyout clause in Thalente Mbatha’s contract to make his switch from SuperSport permanent. The 24-year-old joined the Sea Robbers on a six-month loan deal initially but has impressed the technical team enough to justify a permanent move.
“Everything is in place. It’s close to being done with the talks and agreements between the two clubs as well as the player involved. The technical team is very happy with what they have seen so far and they don’t want to let him go,” said the source.
