Philadelphia Eagles trade player to sign world-class defensive playmaker in latest seven-round 2024 NFL Draft.

Can the Philadelphia Eagles return to Super Bowl form in 2024?

Following a season where they were just minutes away from becoming Super Bowl champions in 2022, the 2023 season was a nightmare for the Philadelphia Eagles. After a 10-1 start, Nick Siranni’s squad ended up not even winning the NFC East, and got embarrassed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Wild Card round.

ESPN’s Jordan Reid has Howie Roseman making a splash in this week’s NFL Draft, as the Eagles part ways with picks 22, 50, and 161 to move up 10 spots and acquire the 12th overall pick from the Denver Broncos to select Alabama cornerback, Terrion Arnold.

Philadelphia Eagles Make Major Moves in Seven-Round Mock Draft

Round 1, Pick 12 (via trade with Denver Broncos): Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama

“The Eagles are good at forecasting future needs and getting ahead of them. They haven’t drafted a cornerback in the first round since 2002 (Lito Sheppard), but after a defensive collapse in the second half of last season, that might change. Darius Slay and James Bradberry are the projected starters, but they will be 33 and 31 years old at the start of next season, respectively. Arnold is an effortless mover with versatility and ball skills; he had five interceptions last season.”

Round 2, Pick 53: Junior Colson, LB, Michigan

“Linebacker was a weak spot on the Eagles’ defense last season, but Colson would help set the tone for the position group and the defense as a whole. An instinctive and urgent second-level playmaker, he closes up rushing lanes in a flash. Colson had 101 tackles last season.”

With their final four selections, ESPN has Roseman and co. bring in Miami safety, Kamren Kinchens (120), Illinois offensive tackle, Julian Pearl (171), Texas A&M defensive tackle, McKinnley Jackson (172), and Michigan tight end, AJ Barner (210).
