That’s not something you hear every day.
NDZINISA SOUNDS KEEN ON AN ORLANDO PIRATES MOVE
Swazi striker Sabelo Ndzinisa has been a revelation for Green Mamba Big Bend. He got 11 goals and 11 assists across all competitions last season for the Eswatini outfit. He’s got experience in the CAF Champions League too, and has 15 goals in 58 caps for his national team.
“I guess it could be a good thing if what they are saying (Pirates rumours) is true because so far, there has been nothing official that has reached me. You can’t get away from it once it comes, which I think could be deliberated, hopefully after tomorrow’s (Sunday) game,” said Ndzinisa on the speculation to KickOff.com.
DAY JOB GETTING IN THE WAY?
Local outlet SoccerLaduma believe his purported Pirates move hangs in the balance:
“His (Ndzinisa) current job is also contributing to the failure of the move (to Pirates). He is a Warder and it’s not easy for them to just let him go unless he takes a long-term unpaid leave which doesn’t look possible at the moment. The only way it could happen is if the deal is concrete and he resigns from the Correctional Services maybe that way it can happen. So, as for now, the move hangs in the balance really,” said a source to the publication.
IS KERMIT’S PIRATES ADVENTURE OVER?
Kermit Erasmus’ Bucs contract expires in June. A source close to Soccer-Laduma reveals the club will decide on his future sooner rather than later but is leaning towards releasing the former Feyenoord, Rennes, Lens, Sundowns and SuperSport star. There are also huge doubts over the respective futures of Cameroonian star Souaibou Marou and Bafana Bafana man Zakhele Lepasa. Marou is reportedly wanted in Europe, while Lepasa’s inconsistency means he isn’t a realistic long-term number 9 ahead of Evidence Makgopa.
“He (Erasmus) is one of the players whose future will be decided at the end of the season when the club (Pirates) is making plans for next season,” said the source. If Ndzinisa arrives, Jose Riveiro will have a surplus of attackers, and it’ll be decision time.
UPCOMING BUCS FIXTURES
- Sun 28 Apr vs Royal AM (A) – 15:00

Jose Riveiro’s side is still in the hunt for a top-two finish and CAF Champions League qualification. Meanwhile, they’ve already claimed MTN8 glory this term and will be desperate to defend their Nedbank Cup crown too. Their assignment in the final four is a trip to Chippa on 4 May. If they successfully negotiate that, they’ll face the winner of Stellenbosch and Sundowns in the other semi-final.
