Richmond was a first-team All-Big East selection this past season.
Per a report from NJ.com’s Adam Zagoria, Kentucky is among the several school’s to make contact with Seton Hall transfer guard Kadary Richmond.
Zagoria reports Duke, Kentucky, St. John’s, Villanova, Illinois, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, Florida State, UCF and Arkansas have all made contact with the Seton Hall transfer.
On3’s Jacob Polacheck added that UK assistant Jason Hart was the one to contact Richmond.
The 6-foot-6 Brooklyn, New York native started his college career at Syracuse, where, as a true freshman during the 2020-21 season, he played in 28 games, which included three starts in which he averaged 6.3 points per game.
He transferred to Seton Hall ahead of his sophomore season of 2021-22, playing for Kevin Willard. In his debut season with the Pirates, he played in 32 games, made 26 starts, and averaged 8.8 points per game, 3.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.7 steals.
Following Willard’s departure for Maryland, Richmond stayed at Seton Hall to play for Shaheen Holloway. As a junior during the 2022-23 season Richmond played in 27 games with 25 starts in which he averaged 10.1 points per game, 5.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.0 steals.
This past season, Richmond played in 35 games, started 34 and helped lead the Pirates to a NIT championship. He averaged 15.7 points per game, 7.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.2 steals per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the field, 27.0 percent from three and 80.7 percent from the free throw line.
Richmond scored a season-high 24 points in a victory over Butler, logged six double-doubles and a triple-double as he went for 21 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in a loss to Creighton.
The season earned him All-Big East First-Team and All-NIT Tournament Team honors.
Richmond has one season remaining of eligibility to use at his next school.
