Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly turned down an offer from Turkey for their midfielder Tanguy Ndombele according to a report from Turkey.
That’s according to Turkish journalist Ertan Süzgün who claims that Galatasaray have made an €8 million (£7 million) offer for the French midfielder, who was out on loan at Serie A champions Napoli last season.
The offer, which is incredibly low considering Spurs signed Ndombele for £63 million according to Sky Sports, is reported to have been rejected by Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham side.
The midfielder has had an indifferent spell since Spurs forked out a club-record fee to bring the French midfielder from Ligue 1 giants Lyon.
It remains unclear if Ndombele is part of Spurs’ plans for the new season. The French midfielder was missing from Spurs’ pre-season team who lost 3-2 against West Ham United due to injury.
The 26-year-old midfielder made 30 appearances for Napoli last season but only scored once and Napoli didn’t pursue a permanent deal as a result of this.
£21 million price tag set by Tottenham
Further to Galatasaray’s and reportedly Fenerbahce’s interest in the midfielder, a report from the 17th of July by Corriere Dello Sport states that Spurs value the midfielder at £21 million, as a result, the North London side would take a £42 million hit on the Frenchman.
The reported offer from the Turkish giants will be paid in installments but Spurs, as it stands, won’t accept that offer for Ndombele.
The low fee is, according to the same report, because of the player’s salary which is in the region of £4 million per season net, so Galatasaray would struggle to afford the player’s wages on top of the transfer fee it would take to sign the midfielder.
The news comes after Giovani Lo Celso was attracting interest from Napoli according to CalcioMercato after spending last season out on loan at Spanish side Villarreal.
