Orlando Pirates are rumoured to be ready to part ways with one of their players and cut their losses on him despite still having a contract
Orlando Pirates are looking to offload one of their forwards at the end of the season, according to reports.
Pirates are making it no secret that they’re looking to revamp their attack but there will be sacrifices.
One striker already left the club during the January transfer window in Bienvenu Eva Nga. Eva Nga recently left Pirates to rejoin his former club Chippa United. Now according to the latest reports, he is primed to be joined at the Buccaneers exit door by his countryman Souaibou Marou.
For the past two transfer windows, Marou has been rumoured to be leaving the club. It was also a shock to many when he left with the Pirates squad for their pre-season tour to Spain. He did not seem to impress there, and so it was no surprise that he started the season struggling to get into the match day squad. He did survive the transfer window, however, and did so again in January despite more exit rumours.
MAROU SET TO LEAVE PIRATES?
It was mooted that Pirates were finally ready to let Marou leave the club but on loan. According to Soccer-Laduma, that is no longer the case.
“For now, it’s more or less like a foregone conclusion that Marou won’t be at Pirates next season. All the parties involved have agreed that it’s the best way for the player and the club as well. That decision has finally been made. No, I don’t think it will be a loan move. They are looking at parting ways straight away and to release him from his contract. It’s unfortunate that he hasn’t been able to showcase his talent at Pirates. He is a very good striker and he is still young. Age is still on his side and doors will open for him going forward,”.
STRIKER REVAMP LOADING?
Pirates are believed to be ready to undergo a striking revamp at the end of the season. Marou could be joined by Kermit Erasmus at the exit door.
