‘This can’t be real’: Dragons boss sue fan to court after burning special NRL jersey.

St George Illawarra has been caught out over some unfortunate jersey stuff ups.

Eagle-eyed supporters spotted one awkward typo on the special milestone jumper Jack Bird wore for his 150th NRL appearance on Sunday.

The star centre was brought to tears when presented with the jumper in the Dragons’ dressing room, reflecting back on the difficult road he has travelled to reach the milestone.

Playing against his former club Cronulla, the 29-year-old wore a one-of-a-kind jumper that celebrated his career achievement in his 67th game for the joint venture club.

Unfortunately, the jersey worn suggested Bird reached the mark while playing for the “Dargons”.

“Jack Bird. 150th NRL Game. Sharks vs Dargons. Pointsbet Stadium. Sunday May 5th 2024,” the special engraving on the jumper wrote.

The typo was first spotted by Twitter users and has quickly circulated to reach the eyeballs of Dragons fans.

The unofficial Red V Podcast account wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “This can’t be real can it? Serious question”.

Unhappy fans then tracked down other similar issues, including when utility Fa’amanu Brown made his whirlwind debut for the club in April.

Brown was called up to play for the Dragons just days after he signed with the club ahead of their surprise win over the Warriors on April 19.

Brown gave a lengthy, classy talk in the team’s sheds when presented with his debut jumper by Raymond Faitala-Mariner.

Unfortunately, the jumper got it wrong.

“Fa’amanu Brown. Dragons Debut. Dragons vs Warriors. WIN Stadium. 19th June 2024,” the engraving wrote.

It appears the mistakes were a simple clerical error with other players’ having milestone jumpers engraved without any issues this season.
