Leeds United have reportedly made a €5million bid to sign Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayındır, with the Turkish stopper having a release clause of €7million.

The Whites are in the hunt for a new goalkeeper this summer as they plan for life without Illan Meslier or Joel Robles.

Daniel Farke will have targets from across Europe that he is taking a look at, with the 49ers needing to get a signing in soon.

Altay Bayındır to Leeds?

Turkish outlet As Marca are reporting that the club have tabled a bid to sign Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayındır.

The 25-year-old has a release clause of €7million (£6.08m), but Leeds are said to have bid below that with an offer of €5million (£4.34m).

Bayındır was a regular presence in the Fenerbahce side last season that finished second in the league behind Galatasaray, while making it to the round of 16 in the Europa League.

The Turkish international is a key part of his side’s build-up play from the back, something that Farke is likely keen to add to his side as he looks to replace Meslier.

It’s a solid valuation for us to look at, and he’s at a great age where he’s still only young, but with plenty of experience behind him.

Having played in Europe too, he’s had to perform well above the standard that he’d face in the Championship.

If we are looking for a new goalkeeper this week, someone of his calibre would be a very smart coup.
