Leeds United are interested in signing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara this month as Daniel Farke aims to strengthen his squad for the start of the Championship season.

Having shown key ambition to bring in Ethan Ampadu on a £7million permanent deal this week from Chelsea, Leeds still need a whole lot more before they can consider themselves ready for the start of the Championship season.

The midfield is still a particular spot that Daniel Farke will want to add depth to, given Tyler Adams’ uncertain future.

The Yorkshire Evening Post’s Graham Smyth has now discussed Leeds’ chances of landing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.

He was left out of Rangers’ friendly against Newcastle United this week with illness as he looks set to leave Ibrox, and Smyth believes it’s a deal Leeds are right to be pursuing, and one that’s simple to arrange.

Kamara for that fee is something that we need to pursue, and do so very quickly to get him in with enough time to get up to speed.

Illness isn’t ideal when he’s trying to get up to full fitness this pre-season, and if we’re looking to sign him, we need to do it quick.

In terms of midfield profiles, someone like Kamara is needed that can evade the press with ease and dictate possession.
