Following the announcement that former Auburn football cornerback JD Rhym is expected to transfer to Houston, the Washington State football program announced on Friday that they signed former Tigers linebacker Wesley Steiner.
Steiner was a 4-star recruit out of high school in the recruiting class of 2020 and spent four seasons on the Plains. After seeing his playtime decrease last season, and with the Tigers’ starting linebackers returning in 2024, it was no surprise Steiner hit the portal.
Over his four-year career at Auburn, Steiner recorded 86 total tackles and two tackles for loss. He will have one year of eligibility left with Washington State.
Georgia linebacker commit sets official visit with the Tigers
According to On3 Sports, 4-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte — who is currently committed to the Georgia Bulldogs — has set an official visit to the Auburn football program.
Out of Buford High School, Perlotte has been committed to Georgia since December of 2022 but has kept his recruitment open and has been exploring all of his options ahead of a final decision. He visited the Plains for the Ole Miss game last season and has since returned, continuing to build a strong relationship with Auburn football head coach Hugh Freeze.
The LB’s official visit will take place on June 12 and is among five official visits he will take this summer. His first stop is Alabama on May 31, followed by Miami on June 7, Tennessee on June 14, and Georgia on June 21. Though it won’t be easy to flip Perlotte from in-state Georgia, he has made consistent trips to the Plains and has been vocal about his love for the Tigers.
