ARSENAL PLOT NEW MOVE TO FINALLY SIGN TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TARGET.

Arsenal are rejoining the race for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz amid claims Tottenham Hotspur are keen.

Tottenham Hotspur may now face a battle with Arsenal in the race to sign Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.

That is according to The Sun, who claim that Arsenal are eyeing a fresh move to sign Luiz.

This comes after the Daily Mail reported on Thursday that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move to sign Luiz.

That report claimed that Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg is expected to leave the club for Atletico Madrid this summer.

Spurs are looking at midfield targets to bring in and one of them could be Luiz, with Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher also on the radar.

Tottenham would probably face a real battle to even convince Villa to sell their prized midfielder.

Their pursuit has now been made even trickier though with London rivals Arsenal now getting involved once again.

Arsenal could make a fourth bid for Douglas Luiz

If Arsenal do firm up their interest for Luiz, they would be making a fourth bid for the Brazilian.

Arsenal made a real push to sign Luiz before the summer transfer deadline day in 2022 with Edu seemingly keen on his compatriot.

Sky Sports reported that Arsenal made three last-gasp bids worth £20million, £23million and £25million for Luiz – but Villa said no.

Villa not only managed to keep Luiz but even secured him to a new contract, strengthening their position even further.

Edu and Mikel Arteta seem to love Luiz, who would be an option for the defensive midfield spot if Thomas Partey moves on.

We can’t see Luiz trading Villa for Tottenham this summer and even a move to Arsenal seems unlikely given the price tag Villa would probably demand.

Luiz would probably cost upwards of twice Arsenal’s final bid from last summer and we think he is better off playing a key role under Unai Emery at Villa Park.
