Cubs manager Craig Counsell applauds Brown’s strong pitching performance.

Mike Tauchman hit a single that gave the Cubs the lead in the 10th inning, helping them to end a five-game losing streak by defeating the Milwaukee Brewers 6-3 on Tuesday night. The hit seemed to bounce off Trevor Megill’s throwing elbow.

Ben Brown pitched seven innings without allowing any hits, adding to the Brewers’ struggles against Cubs starting pitchers this season. The Brewers finally got their first hit in the eighth inning.

Cubs manager Craig Counsell praised Brown’s strong pitching performance, especially his fastball, which was very effective throughout the game.

The Cubs’ starting pitchers have not allowed any runs against the Brewers this season.

After Brown reached his pitch limit, the Cubs relied on their bullpen to finish the game.

After the Brewers tied the game in the ninth inning, Tauchman’s hit in the 10th inning helped the Cubs take the lead. Luis Vázquez scored the first run of his career, sliding home safely.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy confirmed that Megill didn’t suffer any fractures but didn’t provide further details about his injury. Megill left the field due to the impact of the hit.

Hoby Milner replaced Megill and gave up hits to four of the six batters he faced, allowing the Cubs to score more runs. Despite the Brewers scoring two runs in the bottom of the 10th, the Cubs held on to win the game.
