It’s always sad to see a player retire early from their career, and on Wednesday, a young Georgia Bulldog is expected to retire medically.

Georgia’s Former Four-Star Prospect Is Set To Retire

According to Jake Rowe from DwagsHQ, offensive lineman Kelton Smith is taking a medical disqualification and retiring from football.

Smith stated, ” Details regarding the specific ailments Smith is dealing with are unavailable at this time, but per persons with knowledge of the situation, there are multiple issues.”

Smith is from Columbus, Georgia, and was a four-star recruit coming out of high school in 2023. According to 247sports.com, he was the eighth-ranked interior offensive lineman in the 2023 class and the 17th-best overall player in Georgia.

The former Georgia native never played a snap last season for the Bulldogs. Sadly, Smith is the second Bulldog to retire this season due to medical reasons after tight end Pearce Spurlin stepped away due to a heart issue.
