Pompey announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
Collins joined Portsmouth in summer 2022 after leaving former Barclays Women’s Championship club Lewes. The player has gone on to become a valued member of the team’s back-line. Collins made 19 appearances for Portsmouth in last season’s FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division as the club secured the league title and promotion to the second tier.
The player has the potential to impress in the Barclays Women’s Championship and going professional with Portsmouth will help her cause.
After retaining Collins on a professional basis, Portsmouth boss Jay Sadler said “Izzy’s progression last year was fantastic. When she came into the side, everything clicked into place.
“I felt, especially in the second half of the season, she was absolutely outstanding. She deserves this new contract and she’s definitely a key part of our plans going forward.”
Collins is the ninth player to have agreed professional terms with Portsmouth this summer. She has joined teammates Hannah Haughton, Riva Casley, Georgie Freeland, Jazz Younger, Sophie Quirk, Emily Pitman, Annie Rolf and Ella Humphrey in going full-time with Pompey ahead of the 2024/2025 Barclays Women’s Championship campaign.
