Husker head coach Matt Rhule has a new hire who has a strong high school coaching background and is the father of a four-star receiver.

This may grab some Husker fans’ attention.

Jamar Mozee is a new addition to the Nebraska staff, announcing on Sunday he will join the program as a senior football assistant. The announcement was reposted from Husker head coach Matt Rhule.

Mozee was the head coach at Lee’s Summit North (Mo.) High School for eight years before announcing in late February he was leaving to become the offensive analyst at Central Florida.

Certainly a respected coach from his time in the Kansas City area, Mozee is also the father of wide receiver Isaiah Mozee, who is committed to Oregon and has been a Husker recruiting target in this cycle. Mozee is a four-star prospect who is rated No. 228 overall in the 247Sports rankings. He committed to the Ducks on April 17.

As for Jamar Mozee, he Lee’S Summit North to the Missouri Class 6 semifinals in 2021 and 2022, and quarterfinals in 2023. He had a 64-35 record in his eight seasons as head coach.

“Blessed with an amazing opportunity,” Mozee posted on X, with his picture and new job title attached. “It truly is an honor.”

He told the Lee’s Summit Tribune upon taking the Central Florida position,  “All the experiences aid and assist, like how you work, time spent, organization of it all. Everything I’ve been through will help with that. Recruiting kids all over the country. Developing relationships and how you communicate with kids. Hopefully that will help me out down the road.”
