Bae Junho has been attracting attention thanks to performances that saw him crowned player of the year at Stoke City

Stoke City will know that keeping hold of Bae Junho will be one of their biggest priorities and biggest challenges in the summer transfer window as interest is reported from Feyenoord.

Brian Priske, who has taken over from Liverpool-bound Arne Slot, has apparently earmarked the Stoke player of the year as one of his first signings at a club who will compete in the Champions League this season.

It has been a remarkable 18 months for Junho, aged 20, who came to attention at the under-20s World Cup with South Korea, moved to England and ultimately won his first senior international call-up. He will be part of South Korea’s plans to qualify for the 2026 World Cup over the next few months and a major player for Steven Schumacher at Stoke.

It is claimed by 1908 in the Netherlands that Feyenoord have strong links with the player’s agents Route 1 Sports and after scouting and “thorough analysis” there is belief that he would be immediately ready for their first team. It is suggested that he is “charmed by the interest”. There have rumours about potential interest from Liverpool and Slot in Feyenoord’s current left winger Igor Paixão, a 24-year-old Brazilian.

But there are no plans for Stoke to sell Junho barring an incredible offer, with complete confidence that the playmaker will both be a huge asset for Schumacher this term and also a major and growing asset on the balance sheet as he continues to develop. He signed a four-year contract last August.

Junho is currently on a week-long training camp with Stoke in Ireland, with a friendly against Cork City on Wednesday evening.
