Georgia Bulldog fans woke up Friday to the news that yet another player had been arrested.

This time it is star wide receiver Rara Thomas.

According to reports, Thomas has been charged with three counts of battery. Two counts of batter, both misdemeanors, and one count of cruelty to children, a felony. All three of the charges carry a “family violence tag.”

Thomas was arrested by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department and is still in jail awaiting a bond hearing. He was taken into custody and booked into the jail at 3:20 a.m. ET

This is not the first time Thomas, who is a Mississippi State transfer, has faced similar charges. Just a few months after enrolling in Athens, Thomas was arrested at the same time of day for a misdemeanor count of family violence and a felony account of false imprisonment. Each of those charges was soon dropped as Thomas entered a pretrial diversion program and was required to complete anger management and community service.

He briefly saw action for the Bulldogs He caught 23 passes for 383 yards and a touchdown but missed the last three games of the season, including the SEC Championship Game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Georgia and head coach Kirby Smart, have yet to release a statement on this latest incident.

If Thomas is kicked off the team, this could be a huge blow to the Bulldogs.
