The Parramatta Leagues Group in conjunction with Parramatta Eels are delighted to confirm that it has continued its longstanding commitment to the Parramatta Junior Rugby League with a significant financial contribution.

Parramatta Leagues Club Chief Executive Officer, Chris Dimou said the club was delighted to provide funding of over $350,000 to the Parramatta Junior Rugby League in 2024.

Our contribution to the Parramatta Junior Rugby League is a significant investment in the next generation of rugby league players, and at grassroots enables thousands of girls and boys to play the sport they love

By working closely with the Parramatta Junior Rugby League, we aim to provide opportunities for young players to develop their skills, stay active, and cultivate a love for the game. This collaboration is a testament to our dedication to making rugby league the great sport that it is for everyone involved” said Phil Sim, Director of PLC and Chair of the Community Committee.

With a junior league of 24 clubs in the Hills Shire, Parramatta City, Blacktown City, Cumberland City and Fairfield City and over 5,600 registrations, the funding has covered Parramatta Referees fees, insurance for players, committees, managers, trainers and volunteers, a coaching leadership course and deliver Mental Health First Aid training for two members at each PJRL Affiliated Club.

A cheque presentation from the Parramatta Leagues Club by Phil Sim who chairs the Community Committee and Chris Dimou to Parramatta Junior Rugby League General Manager Adam Fairley and Mark Jenkins, President of the Parramatta Junior Rugby League was held on the field at the NRL Clash of the West game on Friday 9th August.

By funding the cost of insurance and referee’s fees for junior participants, affiliated Clubs maintain close to $40 per registration, and with the current cost of living pressures it ensures that the price of participation for families is kept as low as possible

Other initiatives such as the Great Aussie Boost Swap which was conducted at the Parramatta Leagues Club provide added help for families across the district.
