Collingwood will play its first and only official practice match ahead of the 2024 NAB AFLW season this Saturday when they travel to the West to take on Fremantle.
While last Saturday they had their first hit out of the season in a Match Simulation against Geelong, this week’s contest will mimic an in-season game.
The Pies will field a strong side just 13 days out from their Round One clash against Sydney, with 24 players selected.
Vice-Captains Brittany Bonnici, WA local Ruby Schleicher, and Jordy Allen will lead the side that has a host of players pulling on the black and white for the first time in official match play.
Draftees Georgia Clark and Amber Schutte will both suit up for their first hit outs, while recruits Muireann Atkinson, Annie Lee, and Carly Remmos will do the same.
Six of the Pies’ players will sit out the clash as they work through their individual programs ahead of Round One.
Captain Bri Davey, key leader Lauren Butler, third-year player Charlotte Taylor, and new recruits Lucy Cronin, Mikayla Hyde, and Kalinda Howarth are those six.
The game will be held at Fremantle Oval, with the first bounce scheduled for 10am AWST.
Fans not in Western Australia will be able to watch the match live streamed on Collingwood’s website.
