Mansfield Town star Keanu Baccus feels the emphasis is on his side to go at Birmingham City this weekend and told Blues to ‘bring it on’.
The Stags are impressing in League One after winning promotion from League Two last term and currently sit a lofty fourth in the league standings under Nigel Clough.
They won 2-1 at Wigan Athletic in midweek, but next face a huge challenge as league leaders Birmingham are due to pay a visit to Field Mill.
Blues have been superb in League One so far, making good on their pre-season promotion favourites tag, but Baccus is not showing any signs of being worried.
The Mansfield star feels as Birmingham are the away side, the onus will be on the Stags to attack.
Australia international Baccus stressed he cannot wait for the game and urged Blues to ‘bring it on’.
“[They] come to Mansfield, so it’s our home game, we’ve got to take it to them”, he told Mansfield’s media.
“The away fans [at Wigan] were great, so let’s make sure the home fans are great again like they are usually.
“Yes, bring it on on Saturday, can’t wait.”
Birmingham’s only league defeat this season did come on the road, at Charlton, and Mansfield will hope they can inflict a second loss on Blues this weekend.
