The No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide and No. 15 LSU Tigers will meet on Saturday for the 89th time in series history. Alabama leads the all-time series 56-27-5. However, the teams have split the last two games of the rivalry.
Alabama is led by first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer, who led the Washington Huskies to the national title game in 2023. LSU has Brian Kelly as its head coach, who is in his third season with the program after a stint with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from 2010-21.
Both teams are 6-2 heading into the matchup, but LSU has a better conference record than Alabama at 3-1. Alabama beat the Missouri Tigers 34-0 in its last game, while LSU is fresh off a 38-23 loss to the Texas A&M Aggies.
On a recent edition of “Get Up,” Paul Finebaum offered his thoughts on which team would ultimately win the game. Finebaum believed the game would come down to quarterback play and picked LSU despite the game being in Baton Rouge.
“It’s about both quarterbacks,” Finebaum said. “I happen to like Jalen Milroe. He’s a dual threat. Nussmeier is an outstanding passer, but he throws the ball. He can complete anything like every other quarterback we know. I like LSU to go down at home.”
