Salford Red Devils have signed French international prop, Justin Sangare on a two-year deal ahead of the 2025 campaign.
The signing comes just a month after Sangare left Leeds Rhinos, as he looks to add to last seasons success.
The 26-year-old played 23 games during the 2024 Betfred Super League season, and will now have the chance to impress fans next year.
The Mali-born French international has now committed to Salford Red Devils, and is already looking to contribute to the team’s ambitions.
Following the agreed deal, the French international shared his excitement as he said: “(I’m) very excited, I just can’t wait to play with my new teammates.
“There is a lot of potential with this group. My ambition is to win trophies, and I know that is something the Club is striving to achieve, so it feels like the perfect move for me.
“To stay in England with my missus, we spoke and said it would be a very big experience, so we have just taken and embraced this opportunity – and we just want to enjoy and have the best memories we can with Salford.”
With the move secured, the 26 year-old will also be looking to bring a wealth of experience to the Red Devils, already playing for Toulouse Olympique for seven years, before joining the Leeds Rhinos in 2023.
And his domestic experience will be favoured, but will also be adding international experience to the club, playing four times for France since making his debut in 2018.
The new Salford star was included in three games at the 2021 Rugby League Cup against England, Samoa and Greece in the Group Phase.
The exciting will be heavily supported by the fanbase, as he will look to strengthen the side along with the five additional signings made by the Red Devils ahead of the 2025 Betfred Super League campaign.
The team have bolstered their roster for the new season, already signing Esan Marsters, Sam Davis, Chris Hill and Joe Bullock.
The Red Devils were able to get into the playoff positions, and even excel to the elimination play-offs before being beaten by Leigh Leopards.
And with big names coming through the door, there is no surprise that Red Devils Head Coach Paul Rowley is pleased.
As the Head Coach said: “I am pleased to welcome Justin to Salford and on behalf of all the group we are all looking forward to working alongside him with a shared objective of being our absolute best, at training and in games.”
And the feeling is mutual, as Sangare said that he is looking forward to playing under his new Head Coach Rowley, as well as sharing the Red Devils’ ambitions to win trophies in the future.
