The excitement of theTennessee Vols football team and head man Josh Heupel landing the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country David Sanders Jr. remains high. It was a massive get to close things out for the 2025 class.
With that said, Tennessee is already rockin’ for things in 2026, as five-star QB Faizon Brandon gave Heupel and UT an early commitment. The future is looking incredible for Brandon and he’ll be entering his senior campaign next year with loads of confidence.
That’s because he’ll be the reigning Gatorade Player of the Year in North Carolina. The news of this big honor for Brandon just dropped. As you might have been able to guess, the youngster was pretty dang happy to be named No. 1 in the state:
Future Tennessee QB Faizon Brandon was named North Carolina’s Player of the Year
Brandon put up video game-type numbers this season for his high school team and he’s not done yet. As of this writing, Brandon has tossed for 2,256 yards and 27 touchdowns, while adding eight more scores on the ground. He’s a magician with the ball in his hands, there’s no doubt about that.
The future Vol is hoping to power his team to a state title this season, but regardless of how things go for him there, it’s been a 2024 to remember. Brandon is a generational talent. He’s ranked five stars, the No. 1 QB in the country and No. 1 player overall according to 247Sports.
He committed to Tennessee in early August, announcing for the Vols over additional offers from Alabama, Duke, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, North Carolina and many others. Brandon is also a standout on the hardwood.
However, he’ll arrive in Knoxville to make plays on the gridiron and while he’s still got another year left to sign, people are already looking forward to what he’ll be able to get done in the SEC. This kid is the real deal.
