Penn State third-year edge rusher Abdul Carter continues to stockpile awards following his dominant regular season.

Carter was named Associated Press Defensive Player of the Year on Tuesday.

Carter was also a first-team AP choice at edge rusher.

Penn State star Tyler Warren was a unanimous choice as first-team tight end.

PSU safety Jaylen Reed, linebacker Kobe King and guard Vega Ioane were second-team selections.

The 11-2 Lions face 11-2 SMU in a Dec. 21 college playoff game at Beaver Stadium.
