Penn State’s strong 2024 defense has seen another key member catch on with an NFL team despite going undrafted.
Defensive tackle Coziah Izzard signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, as the Penn State social media account announced Saturday night. He joins former Penn State center Hunter Nourzad on the roster.
Izzard was a longtime rotator on the interior of the Nittany Lions defensive line, putting together his most consistent season in 2024. It was always a matter of consistency for him, not lack of talent in his 6-3, 305-pound frame. Izzard came away with 78 tackles, nine sacks and two forced fumbles over 50 career appearances.
The Maryland native also had a strong Penn State local pro day performance, which he hoped at the time could have pushed him toward draft-worthy status. He ran a 4.81-second 40-yard dash, a 4.27-second pro shuttle and looked smooth in on-field drills.
With Izzard’s signing, all but one of Penn State’s draft-eligible departures from the 2024 roster have found their first NFL home.
