Leicester City full-back Victor Kristiansen is reportedly gaining interest from Serie A side Lazio, despite him committing to staying at the club this season.

The Danish international joined the club from FC Copenhagen back in January. He made a total of 12 Premier League appearances for the club in the second half of the campaign, but could not help stop the team suffering relegation to the Championship at the end of the season.

According to Sky in Italy , Lazio are “interested” in signing the 20-year-old this summer. But if City are willing to see the player is still to be seen, especially given the uncertainty over the future of Timothy Castagne, who has been linked with Fulham and Juventus.

Kristiansen missed the season opener against Coventry City at the weekend through injury, but Enzo Maresca has confirmed that he is due to return to training in the “next few days”. It could mean that tonight’s clash against Burton Albion may come a bit too soon.

The links with a move away from City come after Kristiansen has already committed to helping the team win promotion this season. “I am a Leicester City player, and it is with great pride,” he said earlier in the summer.

“It’s a great club and they’ve given me so much. Now I’m just waiting to give it all I’ve got in the Championship and get back in the Premier League.”

In a later interview, Kristiansen was also looking ahead to what he could learn in what will be a busy Championship season. “That is the plan right now,” he said about staying withCity.

“The Championship isn’t too bad to play in as a 20-year-old either. Forty-six games and a lot of other cup tournaments, plus either Under-21s or the senior national team, so I’m just looking forward to that.”
