Folarin Balogun could see a potential Arsenal exit scuppered by Gabriel Jesus’ injury issues, sources have told Football Insider.

Jesus, 26, is reportedly set for weeks on the sidelines after undergoing surgery following another knee injury during the off-season.

Football Insider revealed on Friday (11 August) that Arsenal forward Balogun, 22, is on the radar at West Ham.

The Irons are set to turn their attention to signing a prolific new striker after they wrap up a double deal for James Ward-Prowse and Harry Maguire.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Balogun would be open to sealing a move to the London Stadium as he is keen to put down roots at a permanent home.

It is believed a holding down a regular Premier League starting berth is a dream for the young forward.

The newly-minted United States international has been clear in his desire to avoid going on loan again for the 2023-24 campaign.

As well as West Ham, Inter Milan are among the top European sides to be heavily linked with a potential move for the former Middlesbrough loanee.

Last season, Balogun notched 22 goals and three assists across 39 appearances in all competitions in a temporary spell at Stade de Reims.

His contract at the Emirates Stadium is set to run until June 2025.

West Ham are desperate to add another prolific striker to their ranks after losing flop Gianluca Scamacca back to Serie A side Atalanta last week.

The Irons take on Bournemouth while Arsenal face Nottingham Forest on Saturday (12 August).

Balogun could be part of the matchday squad for the Gunners despite featuring sparingly in pre-season.
