28-YEAR-OLD SET FOR SAUDI ARABIA MOVE DESPITE TOTTENHAM AGREEMENT.

Tottenham Hotspur seemingly won’t be signing Clement Lenglet as the Barcelona defender nears a move to Al Nassr.

Clement Lenglet looks set for Saudi Arabia with Al Nassr now closing in on the former Tottenham Hotspur loanee.

That is according to The Athletic, who report that Lenglet is now close to joining Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr.

It’s stated that, whilst the deal isn’t done yet, Lenglet’s move is seemingly on the verge of completion.

Lenglet has been heavily linked with rejoining Tottenham Hotspur but that won’t be happening now.

Lenglet will instead join forces with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr, along with summer signings Sadio Mane, Alex Telles and Seko Fofana.

Barcelona have been desperate to get rid of Lenglet and Al Nassr have been chasing his signature for weeks.

With no return to Tottenham forthcoming, Lenglet has now decided to head over to the Middle East in an attempt to kickstart his career.

Clement Lenglet to Tottenham rumours amount to nothing

Lenglet being on the verge of joining Al Nassr means that the links to Tottenham can finally come to an end.

Spurs took Lenglet on loan last season, seemingly viewing the Frenchman as a stop-gap signing as a left-sided centre back.

The Frenchman didn’t exactly shine for Spurs, proving to be a fairly average loan addition.

Tottenham have now splashed out on a new left-sided centre back, bringing Micky van de Ven in from Wolfsburg.

That hasn’t exactly stopped the rumours of Lenglet returning to North London though.

Catalan newspaper SPORT claimed just a few days ago that Tottenham had a three-year deal in place for Lenglet.

Talks between Barcelona and Spurs were allegedly held when the two sides met in the Joan Gamper Trophy clash last week.

Either those talks went nowhere or the Catalan press were wide of the mark, with Lenglet now on verge of heading to Saudi Arabia.
