Leeds United defender Leo Hjelde linked away again

Leeds United defender Leo Hjelde has been linked away from Elland Road a few times in the summer, with Andrea Radrizzani’s Sampdoria previously said to have been keen on the teenage

Now, a report from Italy suggests that Salernitana are ‘very close’ to bringing in the Norway U21s international. Gianluca Di Marzio lists Hjelde as one of four players the club is looking to bring in this summer, although there is no mention of whether it would be a loan or a permanent deal in the report.

It’s worth flagging that, given Hjelde’s age, this would not count as the final available international loan spot for Leeds, as FIFA rules state that a club is permitted to seven international over-21s loans. Leeds therefore have one more spot free. Read more on the FIFA regulations and how they apply to Leeds United here.

Tottenham linked with Wilfried Gnonto

The speculation concerning Wilfried Gnonto’s future continues to rumble on. The two parties appear to currently be at a standstill, with Gnonto refusing to play, while the club have reiterated their stance that he is not for sale and that it is now ‘an internal disciplinary matter.’

Links to Everton continue to circulate, but Tuesday saw Tottenham linked with a move for the 19-year-old. A report from LondonWorld claimed that Spurs are monitoring the situation as they look for attacking reinforcement following the sale of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich at the weekend.
