TOTTENHAM TALKS TO SIGN ‘EXPLOSIVE’ STRIKER WILL ACCELERATE THIS WEEK.

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to accelerate their move for Gent striker Gift Orban this week but the Belgian side have a firm stance.

Gent are refusing to sell both Hugo Cuypers and Tottenham Hotspur target Gift Orban during the summer transfer window.

That is according to Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri, who claims that Tottenham are in ‘ongoing discussions’ with Gent over a deal to sign Orban.

It’s stated that the talks are likely to accelerate further this week but Gent have one firm stance in place.

Tavolieri claims that Gent don’t want to sell both Orban and fellow striker Hugo Cuypers this summer amid rising interest.

Orban is the young sensation who looks destined for stardom whilst Cuypers is a proven goalscorer in Belgium at 26.

Cuypers hit 27 goals in 39 league games last season and is understandably attracting interest just a year since arriving from Mechelen.

Tavolieri considers Orban’s exit to be more likely than Cupyers’, but this stance is something Tottenham must be wary of as they chase Orban.

Gift Orban could be exciting Tottenham Hotspur signing

All the noises appear to suggest that Tottenham are zeroing in on Orban as their top attacking target.

There have been links to Brennan Johnson and even Wilfried Gnonto but it’s Orban who appears most wanted.

Football London’s Alasdair Gold suggests that Tottenham are likely to make a move for Orban before the transfer deadline.

Gold highlighted a ‘realisation’ inside Tottenham that they simply have to move for Orban now before they miss out.

Add that to Tavolieri’s claims that a deal could accelerate this week and it points towards Tottenham making a considerable push for the Nigerian.

Orban – hailed as an ‘explosive’ striker – is very inexperienced even for a 21-year-old, playing just 50 games in senior football with Stabaek and Gent.

44 goals in that time is a ridiculous record though and Tottenham may well believe that he can become a superstar in the coming years.
