MATTY Godden scored for the third game in a row as Coventry City were held to a 1-1 draw away at Swansea City.
Godden’s fine finish put the Sky Blues ahead only for Jerry Yates to strike moments later with neither side able to find a winner at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The result means City sit 10th in the Championship table after three matches.
Sky Blues boss Mark Robins handed starts to both Haji Wright and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto after the duo impressed from the bench against Middlesbrough.
Swansea had the game’s first chance as Jay Fulton flashed an effort wide of the post from 25-yards out.
City went close at the other end when the ball broke to Wright who fired a fierce effort a couple of yards wide of the post from 20-yards out.
And Coventry took the lead on 39 minutes as Godden drilled a first time effort into the bottom left corner from inside the box after Wright attempted to control Sakamoto’s cross.
However, Swansea equalised just to minutes later when Yates glanced a header into the left corner of the goal at the near post from Harrison Ashby’s cross from the right.
Both teams had half-chances to win the game as Fulton shot straight at Ben Wilson for the home side while Kyle McFadzean’s header from a corner went over at the other end.
Coventry are next in action at home to Sunderland on Saturday, August 26 with kick-off at 3pm at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
