Ray Parlour has said that Sean Dyche’s Everton should try to sign Romelu Lukaku from Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

The former Arsenal star has said on talkSPORT that Everton should try to sign Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku on a loan deal.

Everton told to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea

Parlour has noted that the Belgian did well during his time at Everton, adding that the Toffees need to sign a striker in the final days of the summer transfer window.

Parlour said, as transcribed by TBR: “Well I’m just thinking, what about Everton?

“I know they’re not struck with a lot of money at the moment, but could they get him on loan?

“Because he did really well at Everton, didn’t he? Maybe the Everton fans will say we need a better strike force at the moment, maybe [Romelu] Lukaku fits in there?”

According to ESPN, Lukaku has not spoken to Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino at all.

The report has claimed that Chelsea want to get rid of the former Inter Milan striker, adding that AS Roma are keen on getting a loan deal done with the Blues for Lukaku.

ESPN has reported that the £300,000-a-week striker is ready to move to Roma as well.

The London Evening Standard has reported that the striker could complete a loan move to Roma on Sunday.

Everton do need to sign a new striker between now and the end of the summer transfer window.

Manager Sean Dyche does have Dominic Calvert-Lewin in his squad, but the English striker has persistent injury problems.

Everton need a senior and experienced striker who knows the Premier League inside out and would be able to hit the ground running at Goodison Park.

Lukaku does fit the bill.

After all, the 30-year-old did well during his time at Everton and knows the club inside out.

Lukaku has made 278 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The striker has scored 121 goals and provided 35 assists in those matches.

However, it seems that Lukaku could become a Roma player soon.
